Tivo box overheating

To whom it may concern

Just this evening my tivo box keeps cutting out. Thought it was issues virgin having today but just came up and said box overheating. It's how and where it always is.

Please can you advise in case I need an engineer or new box.

So annoyed, virgin costs me nearly double what I used to pay for sky for alot less channels wise and plays up.

Hopefully someone can help me.

Thanks

Lisa

Re: Tivo box overheating

Everythings overheating.
Had a few alerts for heat in the Datacenters at work today. It's crazy

Its hotter then it normally is. Make sure the box is well ventilated with nothing around it or on top and not in a closed cabinet

Re: Tivo box overheating

Is that because of the heat then?

Do I need someone to look at it?

Is it dangerous?

Unfortunately I have no where else to put it but in cabinet but have pulled it out a bit and left doors open see if that helps.

Is there anything else I can do?

Re: Tivo box overheating

Just asking as nearly 12 hrs later still quite hot to touch but working. Is this normal? My flat is really hot being top floor - may not help matters at the moment.

Please advise if need an engineer? Rather not have the hassle of one but at same time if need a new box, would have to put up with it.

Thanks

Re: Tivo box overheating

I think ok. Had another touch and a bit cooler. Will keep an eye on it and get back to virgin if it does it again. As long as not dangerous.
