TV Control app on a Chromebook.

I'm trying to use the TV Control app on a Chromebook and I can't watch my recordings. They play for about 3-4 seconds then stop for a second or so then the cycle repeats. I think all of the other functions work, it's just playback. I have tested the broadband and it suggested the high quality option. I tried it on low quality but it made no difference.

The app works perfectly on my Android phone and tablet.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks.

Re: TV Control app on a Chromebook.

TV Control isn't officially supported on a Chromebook.

It's 'classic' Android phone or tablet devices only

Re: TV Control app on a Chromebook.

Thanks for the information, it explains it nearly working but not quite. Unfortunately it's the most important bit that doesn't work. A bit rubbish in my opinion!

Re: TV Control app on a Chromebook.

Some people download bluestacks as a workaround to use android apps on a chromebook.  I'm not sure if the TV Control app would work though, as apps from companies like Virgin, Sky and BT generally have safeguards built in that check the device and operating system.  I've used bluestacks on my Windows10 PC to run android games, must admit though it wasn't a very good experience.

Re: TV Control app on a Chromebook.

Hello

I myself use Bluestacks and all the VM apps and have no problems, all work with no issues as it is an emulator it reports the right OS i.e. Android.
