TIVO Box Stuck on Starting Up

 

I have a problem with our Tivo box.  It's has been stuck on 'starting up' since 10:00 this morning.  I have rebooted it many times, and checked the connections to no avail. I tried to get an online check of the box, but each time I got to the page I am advised that the service is not available. My other box a V6 is working. Can anyone advise of what to do next?

Thanks for your post Mike26, and I'm sorry to see that your set top box has been stuck on Starting Up.

 

Looking into the account it looks like both boxes are currently unreachable.

 

Are you still experiencing the stuck on Starting Up issue on the Tivo box or has this now been resolved?

 

It looks like via the notes on the account, that there has been some movement on having this resolved for you

I phoned the helpline and was advised it was not repairable so new box sent out and I self installed it on Friday. But I cannot get previous settings - series link etc copied from either the old tivo box, or the other V6 box I have in the house. Can you assist with this?

Thanks for coming back to us in our community and welcome back, please see below how to swap the setting to your new box.

 

 

 

How to copy your settings:

  1. Go to manage-virgintvgo.virginmedia.com/tivo/boxswap
  2. Sign in with your primary My Virgin Media username and password
  3. Click Copy TiVo Settings from the menu on the left
  4. Choose the Virgin TV V6 or TiVo box you’d like to copy from. If your box has been replaced it can take up to 48 hours to show, so you may need to check back if it doesn't appear
  5. Choose the box you’d like to copy the settings to
  6. And lastly, the settings you’d like to copy!

I have the same problem with our Tivo box.  It has been stuck on 'starting up' for a long time.

After checking connections I restarted many times and still didn't solve the problem, still on 'starting up' ...

We have a V6 box connected to another TV and it is working properly.

I need advice asap. Please can anyone help? Thanks

Hi I had to have a new box which was delivered in 2 days. Suggest you ring VM and seek their guidance. Good luck.
