Relocation of Hub 2 from upstairs to front room downstairs

Hi helpers,

Not sure if this is the right board to put this query in but here goes.

I have a VERY old wall connector from the Eurobell days! Yep, that's how long we have been a customer of Virgin Media.  Virgin Media Box.jpegVirgin Media Box - Internal.jpeg

This internal box is installed in our front room and that coax cable is connected to the Tivo box.  We have our broadband cable extended via the exterior box on our house, up to a bedroom directly above our front room.  We now need to relocate the broadband hub downstairs into the front room.  Looking at the interior of this Eurobell box, we have assumed that there is no way of plugging the broadband coax cable into it, so how can we move the broadband hub downstairs?  We need to do this as the bedroom is required to be returned back to a bedroom and we don't want the hub in it anymore.

Is it feasible for Virgin to update this wall connector to a newer version, if so, would that come under their £99 non-fault charge?  Would Virgin consider updating said wall connector and relocation of the hub and all cables, afterall we have been VERY long term customers, it would be nice for Virgin to show some form of gratitude to their loyal customers 😊

Hi yes this would come under the £99 call out fee as there is no fault

The wall connector would not need updating.  What you need is a splitter from VM to split the feed from the wall box into two - one to the TV and one to the Hub.  This may affect the levels so would probably require a tech visit anyway.

Thanks for your reply Gareth. Can you confirm the cost and whether you would be willing to replace items such as the old Eurobell wall connector and cabling as they are all at least over 15 years old and some of the cables are way too long? 😊

The engineer will be able to replace the connectors on the day. It would make sense to do this. The fee would be £99 though, which gets charged on the following bill
