Re: Phone call number

Hello dave1954,

Thanks for posting. This indeed is our old contact number but we've not advertised it for around 3/4 years. It's 0345 454 1111 now.

Kind regards,

Re: Phone call number

Here's the Ofcom advice page on 084 call charges since 2015...

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/advice/uk-calling

Depending how long the call was, and which operator it was made from, a £20 bill is quite believable and no great surprise.

Under separate regulations, companies are now obliged to provide a standard-rate (01, 02, 03) number for post-sales/in-contract queries, and most have simply replaced their 0845 with the equivalent 0345.

https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/advice/what-are-03-number... is always worth a read if you're not already aware.

Re: Phone call number

The question is why has VM still got this 0845 number available for the unsuspecting to call.
