hi Billysugger1,

Is this a new installation or box swap? If so have you activated the equipment?

The following will also apply if the box has been turned off for around 30 days as it will need reactivating.

You need to call 0800 953 9500 to activate the box. You will need the box serial number, and your account number and area code.

You could also try contacting  New accounts and Set Up for them to complete the setup and activation. That would be options 1,1,1 and 4 if dialling 150 from a Virgin landline , or options 1,1,2 and 4  if dialling 0345 4541111 from any other phone

You could also try the following :- VM have recently started pre-activating their equipment, and the box should call "home" and be activated within 30 minutes, however sometimes this fails and the advice is to sign into Service status at the top of this page and run a test against the equipment you are installing. By doing this VM will be able to reboot the box or put you in touch with the right team.

Re: Only got 4 standard Tv channels. Rebooted same. No one answers phones??

hi Dave

Been with Virgin 20 years. Had the kit for a few years.

All of a sudden could not get anything but BB1/2 iTv 4and5 nothing else??

Tried testing setup and all is good.

All i want to do is contact someone to get an engineer out?

That will be one who is not furloughed??

Regards Ian.

Is your box giving any error messages? I could hazard a guess but will hold fire.

Have you made any changes to your VM package recently?

Could be a number of things, press "Home" > Help > Help and Settings > Connection > Reconnect to the Virginmedia Network Service now.

If that doesn't work then check https://my.virginmedia.com/faults/service-status for any potential outages in the area with the TV service. How long have you had the kit as it may be the really old V+/VHD box and not a TiVo based box (I'm sure they were cut off ages ago but it could possibly have been finished recently).

Re: Only got 4 standard Tv channels. Rebooted same. No one answers phones??

Just getting the terrestrial channels (and perhaps even in SD) is a symptom of a deactivated box, but there's normally an error message to go with it.

Either way - try Aaron's suggestions but I suspect you'll need call the fault in providing there's no apparent explanation for the box to have been deactivated.

Which box do you have - is it either of these ?

VM C/S are answering calls, but you may just need to be patient at particular times of the day when they're busier.

If you want to wait on here, forum staff are currently about a week behind. Or you could try the text message service (07533 051809) which takes about a day to respond.
