On demand does not stream properly

Hi,

My on demand does not work properly, constant lagging, impossible to watch anything.
Yes, I've rebooted by box and router, no i didn't fix it.

Does anyne else exprience this and have you found a solution.

It's pointless having the service/

Which type of box are you watching on?

Hi, 

It's a V6 box...

It used to work normally but the last few weeks, every show we try to watch stutters, it's unwatchable. 

Pretty annoying and I feel we're wasting our money

The first obvious thing to try...

Can you follow Home > Help & Settings > Help > (top of page) > TV > Speed test

What's the result?

Are you able to watch live TV ok?

Thanks for replying, will try the speed test. 

Yes, live TV is completely fine, as are recorded shows. 

On demand and catch up are both problematic

CatchUp, for all intents, is just a marketing term.. the programmes still use OnDemand 🙂 But thanks for confirmimg.

It would also be useful to know if you ever get an error message - these can often help ID the reason for a fault. You've mentioned buffering, which could be indicative of poor internet speeds (OnDemand uses the internet)

We've got the 200mpbs broadband, I'd be disappointed if on demand wouldn't work on that.

I'll do the speed test and restart the router again and update you.

Looks like the speed test is no longer an option in the menu. 

I'm really disappointed... Don't want to go to Sky but don't want to put up with poor service either. This stuff should just work, shouldn't be hassle 😔

There's usually a logical reason for these things, it's just a question of hunting them out.

I'll check my V6 in the morning for the exact menu path - unless it's moved or changed in the past couple of days, it'll be in there somewhere.

I'd still expect an error code from your OnDemand if and when it drops. Buffering does sound very much like slow internet speeds - do you have any problems with any other devices connected to your home broadband?

No, no other issues with broadband and now error messages. 

It just lags, stutters, buffers with round virgin circle things and never settles.
