I added sky sports last Sunday - 4 days ago - when I go to Channel 501 etc it is greyed out

Thanks but they are not there either...it works on my phone !
have you tried rebooting your equipment to see if the channels appear.
Also try using your remote control go to Help & Settings > Help > Virgin TV > then go up to the top of the screen and click on TV Care and press OK > Missing Channels.? > Refresh my channels list
The set top box should then search for all missing channels, this can take around 15 minutes to complete.

It's possible that the box isn't conected to the internet.
What does it say if you press Home > Help & Settings > Settings >Network
If it says it's not connected then from that screen you can press Connect to the Virgin Media Service now

Hi yes you were right it was not connected. I have now connected and refreshed channel list but sports still not there. I am jinxed
You might have multiple issues here. Now that you're connected, retry the channel refresh. Home > Help & Settings > Help > TV Care > I'm missing some channels.
Also make a note of BenMcr's advice in the thread above and check you're looking at the SD channels if appropriate.

Hi still the same - cannot do a channel search due to no connection - even though i just did the connect to virgin earlier
