New tv box

Hello,

The engineer arrived today after sorting out my wifi. He told me to ask for a new tv box.

He told me my box is the old version so can I please have a new tv box.

Thanks stephen

Re: New tv box

I guess you currently have the V6 box and the new box you are referring to is the Virgin 360 box (which is actually the same box, but with different software).  Sadly, the 360 box/software is only available to existing customers who are on the Ultimate Oomph Bundle.  If you are a new customer then it is worth calling Virgin and asking the question.

Good luck.

Re: New tv box

What box do you have?

Which box did the engineer tell you to ask for?

And did he give any explanation as to why/how you were meant to ask for one?

The different VM TV boxes are shown here

Re: New tv box

Hello

I have the virgin tv TiVo box.

The engineer said to ask for a better box.

I'm not a new customer I've been with virgin for years.

Thanks for your help

Re: New tv box

Then I would definitely call up and ask for the V6, how have you lived with the original TiVo for so long? The V6 runs like a dream compared to the TiVo, I would say it is easily 3 x faster.

Re: New tv box

I would agree that, whilst the TiVo is perfectly servicable, the V6 runs on identical software but is an improvement in every way possible. More recording tuners (6 rather than 3), quicker in general operation, more streaming apps, etc.

If you've had your current TV package for a while, the best method would be to renegotiate your whole bundle-deal with a view to re-contracting for 18months and getting a box-swap to a V6 as part of the bargain.
