Local/National Radio

With Bauer taking over 10s of local radio stations and merging them into 7 area radios, all with the same National content, Is Virgin Media likely to add Greatest Hits Radio to their platform.

Not that I'm likely to use it, just interested.

Re: Local/National Radio

Bauer would have to:

1) Pay Virgin to put them on their platform.

2) Make them available via Satellite (which Virgin would need to feed their master headend)

Considering both Bauer & Global have been going on a cost cutting spree by cutting back “local” programming to a bare minimum I don’t see them adding any services to Virgin. Nor do I expect them to shell out to go on Satellite as this would mean paying SES & Sky additional fees.
