Coax cable to tv box

Is it possible to get a longer coax cable sent out to me to put into my tv box as when it was installed because I had just moved in the tv was on the floor and in a different place.

I did tell the installer where my tv and box would eventually be going and all I was told was oh if it doesnt reach we can send out an extension of 3 metres for free or just use a standard coax cable to extend. Yet I have heard on here using your own extension cables isnt allowed. Therefore is it possible to get an longer cable sent out seen as the original installer was made fully aware of this to begin with.

Thanks

Re: Coax cable to tv box

you can't use your own cable. But VM would change £99 standard non fault call out to change the cable. The installer should of left you with the cable the size you needed
