Re: Catchup / On demand

Hello

Catch Up is limited on what is shown and for how long a episode of a TV series will be shown, where as On Demand has the shows listed for a longer period of time could be many months.

Have a look at https://my.virginmedia.com/your-tv-box/on-demand.html

Re: Catchup / On demand

Thanks for your reply.  To have two more-or-less similar services (and without an explanation from VM) is rather confusing.  That the two services are similar other than for the period the programmes are available raises the question of is there a need to have two services when one will do?

Re: Catchup / On demand

Hello

Certainly understand but On Demand will also have older stuff on it that may have not been broadcast on the VM platform, On Demand also has Movies to rent, Music to Rent and other paid for services.

Re: Catchup / On demand

If it's ok, I'll give this one a go...

OnDemand is as much a marketing term as it is the underlying technology.

CatchUp is the (generally 30day) service of recently broadcast programs and is inclusive on all packages.

Box Sets are generally complete and past series and is inclusive on MaxIt/Full House/XL packages.

Pay Per View, Virgin Movies etc, are individually chargeable programs.

Sky Cinema is inclusive for anyone who has the Sky Cinema channels.
