Catch up and on demand always going off

Catch up and on demand keeps going off.

have tried re booting the modem. It solves the problem for a few minutes then it goes off again.

Some days it only goes off once. Other times it takes a couple of hours to watch a half hour programme to the end.

Im sick of paying for something I am not getting.

Getting close to having the whole thing removes and going to Freeview.

Re: Catch up and on demand always going off

You've not mentioned any problems with live TV, so I assume that's ok.

Which box do you have - is it a TiVo or a V6? If you're not sure, check here

The 2 boxes connect to the internet (for OnDemand) differently, so advice varies.

Re: Catch up and on demand always going off

Thanks for you reply.

I have a TiVo box.

Generally live tv is ok but it does go off from time to time.

Its the catch up that is causing big problems at the moment.

Thank you.

Re: Catch up and on demand always going off

First off, are you aware the TiVo allows you to record upto 3 programmes at once? That might well be easier than relying on VOD, but all the same...

The TiVo has an inbuilt internet connection and many issues with OnDemand are caused by this connection failing without users realising. On the front-left of your box there's 3 green lights, second-from-left is your "online" light which indicates your TiVo's internet connection.

Static on is good, flashing is bad and means the connection has failed. No internet means no OnDemand, and is a service fault.

If your live TV is failing, it could mean you have signal issues. Again, a fault.

Yes. All your OnDemand services are carried over the internet. Along with your TV Guide updates and a few other functions.

Re: Catch up and on demand always going off

Thank you for clear and informative reply.

Does this mean I need to call out the engineer?

Re: Catch up and on demand always going off

Do you have the flashing light I mentioned, on the front-left of your box?

If so, then yes you need to call Virgin Meda faults to report that. If you don't, then there may still be a fault but it's not necessarily a duff box.
