C130 error when TP Link connected

‘Search’ mode on TV not working when TP Link is connected. When TP Link is unplugged then ‘search’ mode works on virgin media box. Have bought new N27 cable and that has not solved the issue.

Issue is only when the TP Link is plugged in. Effectively seems as though the TP Link is blocking the signal for the virgin media box to know it is connected to internet. Is there any solution to having the TP Link plugged in and virgin media working and TP Link working? Rather than only 1 working.

Which VM box are you using?

Check here if you're not sure. They do differ in 'net connectivity.

Have managed to fix the issue. TP Link says to plug directly into mains. However if you have virgin media already plugged into mains their sets cannot piggy back off TP Link. Therefore leave virgin media direct in the wall and plug TP Link into extension cable and that should work.

 

Well it has worked for me. I can’t explain the logic though.

Great you've got it sorted.

For the benefit of others reading this thread, the TiVo box doesn't connect via your home broadband, only the V6 & 360 do.

So this advice may not be appropriate.
