BBC red button - will it now remain?

Hi,

Just noticed BBC have suspended red button switch off as its under review till Spring, however on V6 its still displaying it will be closed 31st January.

Can anyone from VM confirm if it will remain on the VM service or not, thanks.

Re: BBC red button - will it now remain?

Well, the on screen warning messages have gone, so I guess the BBC News and BBC Sport apps are safe, at least during the review period.

The service referred too is carried by Freeview & Satellite only and uses the broadcast system to provide the data to the TV set. Most TVs (& Virgins STBs) are now connected to the internet. These internet “Connected Red Button” services are not affected. The additional TV stream on channel 991 will also continue as normal. However the BBC News & Sports apps are being removed.

Virgin BB TV Landline. Freeview/Freesat HD, Virgin Mobile, Tesco Mobile. Cable customer since 1993

The BBC News and Sport TV apps will not be closing either while the review takes place
