BBC iPlayer App not working

For the past two days the BBC iPlayer App has not been working. Each time I try to access the App, it buffers for a minute then skips back to the main App or Catch Up menu.

I have a Hub3.0. I have tried rebooting and resetting. Several times.

The iPlayer works fine on PC, but not via streaming through VirginMedia TV. Other Apps that I use are working ok. Everything is connected ok.

Just to clarify...

You can watch non-BBC onDemand programmes ok? (These use the same internet connection)

You can watch, say, YouTube videos ok? (This helps prove your box's ability to run streaming apps)

Which Virgin box do you have? If you're not sure, check here

Hi,

With the exception of BBC iPlayer and BBC Sounds, all the other Apps appear to be working ok, including All4, YouTube and Netflix.

I have a Virgin TV V6 box.

Have you tried different ways of accessing the iPlayer app?

Home > Apps > All apps > iPlayer

Home > CatchUp > Channels > BBC

Find a BBC programme from the backwards EPG, press "OK", "watch from catchup"

I had exactly the same problem, first discovered evening of 20 January. Had to revert to smart TV iPlayer.

Just tried V6 box and problem persists. Switched off V6 at mains, waited a minute, restarted box. Allowed it to get up to speed. Tried iPlayer through Home, Apps menu. All now OK! Played programmes fine.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Tried restarting again, but same problem. Still not working, regardless of how I try to open it.
