Amazon Prime Blackout

When I watch Amazon Prine Video via the app service on my TV, I will select an episode of a show only to be met with a blank screen. This is the loading time but more often than not, the episode does not play. 

I have to switch my TV off from the mains and switch back on again for it to then work. 

Does anyone recognise this?

is there a quicker way to solve this?

Are you watching on a 4K UHD TV by any chance?

If you are, ignore the error number on the help page and follow the advice on https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/604 

If a 4K TV is not the issue, can you try any normal VOD programme - say catchup from ITV, C4 or C5 and see if that plays?
