7400 error code

Hi, can anyone help please, my dad has just downgraded his tv package however, the error code 7400 will not leave the screen. When I sign in online to do the service status check, TV is not there to check. I have been on hold waiting to talk to Virgin for 1.20hr an I can’t do it anymore they clearly aren’t that busy they just want to do to this instead. Can anyone help please

Error 7400 means your box needs activating. The automated number to do this is 0800 9539500 and you should be able to do this without speaking to an agent, unless there's a problem in your case.

If so, then you'll just have to be patient I'm afraid. Activation can't be done online.

Hi just to add to japitts correct advice have your account number area code and serial no of the box to hand when you phone the activation number.Regards Micky
