v6 REMOTE REPLACEMENT

The remote on one of our V6 boxes is not working properly, sometimes key presses have no effect, have replaced the batteries and followed other suggestions such as re- pairing but this has not solved the problem.  I then followed some screens online to  try to request a new remote but it fails with a bad request return message.      I then tried to obtain a replacement by raising a support issue via chat. I eventually got to the front of the queue.  at the end of the chat  I was advised that a new remote had been ordered but it never arrived. At the same time I reported the problem with the online process of ordering thinking that if this was resolved this would reduce the call load and allow support to be more responsive on other issues. I tried to press this point but in fact the person on the chat just seemed keen to close the chat although did promise that this would be looked at. I am not surprised that several months later the error still occurs in the online ordering process and also the new remote has not arrived either. I have the full dialogue of the chat if anyone would like to follow this up but ostensibly having already wasted an amount of time pursuing this I would just like to receive a replacement remote.  I therefore hope that some kind person from virgin support will read this plea and take pity on me and step in to help me achieve my goal.

Hi Alb,

Thanks for your suggestion but the problem seems to be more to do with the v6 box not always responding to the remote.  The functions to turn the tv off/on, adjust the volume, appear to work but I did try to go back over the process of programming the remote to the tv in case it somehow had some bearing but it makes no difference.  That's why I have been trying to obtain a replacement remote.

OK saw that... good luck with VM .. at the mo I am plagued a bit with VM ( alleged }

calls from the orient .. had 5 in as many days  we all have our cross to bear ..
