replacing 2 tivo boxes with v6

my conections are cable and wireless but the tivo boxes used them OK. I don't mind self installing two new v6 boxes but the info I can find only has instructions for the first box.

If I have cables alreay in place is it possible to conect the boxes my self by switching the cbles over to the new boxes?

Hi bear in mind that your hub will also have to be linked with the V6s so whether you feel confident or if indeed its possible to self install I'm not to sure. Regards Micky

Re: replacing 2 tivo boxes with v6

Thanks Micky

I am quite good with setting up WiFi connections and network connections. And I do have a long enough Ethernet cable that will reach down to or up between downstairs and upstairs, thanks to the first installer he left me the longest one which I used originally before WiFi was available.

It is the coaxial cable to the second box that might be the problem, at the moment the cable goes into a box on the wall

then is split into internet and TV. It is the second box TV connection I might have problems with.

Hi regarding alterations to the coxial you will need an engineer as they use specialist cable, and altering the length will affect signal levels, which means adjustment between the street cabinet and your box. Regards Micky

Re: replacing 2 tivo boxes with v6

If you have two working TiVos then just swap them for V6s. As advised you need both V6s to be connected to the hub as well and Ethernet cable is always best.

Re: replacing 2 tivo boxes with v6

I'm just adding today the boxes were installed, and apart from being told the slot was 8-1 and having to phone to find it was later in the day. I am very happy with the quick installation.becky
