Your TiVo box has its internet connection in-built, whereas the V6 relies on a connection via your VM home broadband. First off, how is your V6 connected to your Home hub? An ethernet cabled connection is by far the best method, but WiFi can also work.
What is happening when you use On-Demand, is there an error message?

1: Does your box show connected in the top-right, is there an indication of there not being an internet connection?
You can try manually forcing a connection in this same screen, but one thing at a time 🙂
