no picture through Yamaha amp

i have just purchased a Yamaha RX-A6A. with my virgin box connected to it i get no picture or sound and sometimes i get just sound. i also have connected to the amp a zidoo box, Nvidia sheild pro and a second media player. the other items connected work as they should with no issues. my HDMI cables are all 2.1 except for the one that goes from amp to tv which is a 1.4B. any help would be appreciated.

Ensuring all HDMI cables are HDCP2.2 compliant is the best place to start.

VM do require HDCP2.2 compliance.

Because this is 3rd party equipment, related, we cannot offer too much in the way of support, sorry.  I certainly cannot offer any further advice on top of the fantastic japitts.  You may wish to check out our partners in Gadget Rescue, whom do support 3rd party issues.
