dvr has serious problem, green screen error

Hi there guys

Hope you are all well.

My stb has shown up a green error stating the its had a serious problem and that it needs to be left on for three hours. The box has been on now for the past 24 hours and it is just switching itself off and on again ( rebooting) showing the welcome page (with all the languages) then switching off again. please can anyone help with a diy solution or is this something more fatal ? I look forward to your response.

Hi coskermike,

I'm afraid I have some bad news for you.

Your TV box is like the parrot in the famous Monty Python sketch.

He has ceased to be! 'E's expired and gone to meet 'is maker!

You can either call TV Faults 150 from your Virgin landline, or 0345 454 1111, but best to call at 8am to avoid call queues

Or you can wait here for a member of Forum Staff to pick up this thread.

Or you can try the text messaging service.

Just send  a text with a description of TV Faults  to 07533 051809. Your message will go into a queue and a representative will respond to you as soon as possible. It may take a few days
