I live in Birmingham and have always, yes always received my local ITV news on channel 103 from central ITV, my region.
I don’t live in Yorkshire, the issue by the way has now gone away and I’m once again receiving my local news.
I also understand that you can find other regions if you scroll the EPG, I used to do this when I had Sky. Thanks for your very insightful help.
Now you have answered the question I can you the advice you could have had earlier. What you had was actually an ITV network issue. If there are any issues you get a backup region instead. What won’t change is the channel identifier. So if you press the info button on the remote & see the correct region on the banner, but have a different one on the screen there is a problem at the broadcasters end. Problem solved.

Regional allocations are determined by the cable headend you are downstream of.
If you can give me the nearest large town to your location I should be able to work out what cable franchise area you are located in, & hence the channels you should receive.

Not necessarily. Cable region franchises have different boundaries to Freeview & Satellite owing to the way the franchises were licenced, & hence the networks were built. If you are downstream of a Yorkshire franchise headend you can only get the channels fed from that headend.
If you give me a location I can look at the franchise data, as there may be alternative regions available elsewhere in the EPG
