Was this box-swap arranged by a home visit? Or was it using Quick-Start self-install?
If it was Quick-Start, it sounds like the agent has just - in technical parlance - pressed the wrong button.
Being patient on the phone lines will be the quickest way, you can probably use the replacement TiVo in the meantime though...
