WiFi on mobile

Hi,

Just recently my Huawai phone has decided that on WiFi networks that I've connected to previously i.e home and my parents it will connect  but next to the network name it says login authentication required but then a android notification appears asking me to sign in I click it and it takes me to a virgin troubleshoot page saying click here to fix which I do, it then goes around as a percentage but then says unable to fix. After a while it connects as normal. Is this a normal thing to happen or should I be worried.

Thanks

Re: WiFi on mobile

Hi Stownsend02,

Welcome to our Community Forum and thanks for posting.

Are you still able to use the Wifi despite the notification or are you forced to click on the notification to resolve the connection?

Can you show us a screen shot of this (please make sure you blur out any personal information).

Also once connected, are you able to use it as you please until you leave the network or are you required to click on the notification every three hours for example?

Thanks,

Lisa

Re: WiFi on mobile

Hi Lisa,

When it happened it wouldn't let me go on the Internet unless I clicked the notification that took me to the trouble shoot page. If I didn't and went straight onto chrome it would say there was no connection. After an hour or so it just fixed itself.

It's only happened on those 2 occasions but it's never happened before so I thought I'd check.

Re: WiFi on mobile

Did you recently update the phone?

Without seeing a screenshot to understand the notification properly, is it the same notification as if you're accessing a WiFi network for the first time?

Please let us know if it continues as you should be able to connect to known WiFi networks as your phone should save the information.

Regards,

Lisa

Re: WiFi on mobile

It's like when you connect to a public WiFi hot-spot and it shows its connected but you have to click  notification to sign in before you can get access

Re: WiFi on mobile

Do you have any other devices available to you and try using your Wifi Network?

To confirm, did you experience the same issue at your parents? What about other networks such as at work or friend's house?

If it's only happened on two occasions, are you able to monitor it so we have more information?

Thanks,

Lisa

Re: WiFi on mobile

Ive been having a lot of trouble with Virgin wifi as well , couldnt connect to another PC last night in another room , and couldnt connect to the wifi on my virgin mobile either

In the end i put my IP address into the phone and put the password in again , before that i unplugged the hub

Ive noticed a lot of Broadband issues with Virgin over the last year , the service has gone down hill imo , i wouldnt advise anyone new to join as they cant cope with the paying customers they already have

All the other devices work fine, and yes it was exactly the same thing at my parents.

My phone works fine on other networks it just seemed to have a problem this time
