Which coax cable for an extension

Hi,

Dont know which box I have as it has no virgin model on it, it's made by some other company. Anyway I need to move it to another room so need an extension cable. From what I can see it's just a plain old coax connector and adapter. See pics.

Which cable should I get please? Needs to be a lit 10m

Re: Which coax cable for an extension

Hi

Any old coax cable will not do the job. We use a certain grade of cable and connectors.

if this is not used this leaves our network open to issues. You could also have poor service.

the amount of jobs I have visited due to poor DIY work is shocking.

Re: Which coax cable for an extension

Ok so what coax cable do I need as that adapter plugs straight into the back of the tv box and it's what the tech installed. Looks to be a straight forward coax cable.

Can you advise which one I need please as I'm not paying 99 quid for someone to come round and do something I can do myself.

Thanks

James

you can't do this work yourself. Its against the T&C and you need to get VM to do it

Re: Which coax cable for an extension

It will be a £99 no-fault call out charge - however I dont think VM are doing thes moves at the moment as they are prioritising their Tech resources to do other things at this time.

For future reference - your box is one of these.....

Re: Which coax cable for an extension

Yeah dont think I will bother then. 99 quid to attach a bit of cable which would take 5 minutes is criminal.

Thanks all.

Re: Which coax cable for an extension

It's not standard tv coax.

I suggest you do a search for cable tv extension cable.

You have to consider the extra signal loss introduced as a result of this but unless your levels are already low 10m or good quality coax intended for the job should not be a problem.
