What do I need to connect a second V6 box upstairs?

I run a Full House/M350mbps bundle with a single V6 box, a previous occupant used to have Virgin with two Tivo boxes as the cables are still leading up the sitting room wall to the upstairs bedroom.

I am wondering how would I go about installing a second V6 box upstairs, will a V6 box run off the old Tivo co-ax cable and connector? Or do I just need a new cable to slot in place of the old one?

Edit, I would prefer to install it myself if possible due to current circumstances.

Hi sastusbulbas,

Thank you for your post.

At this point in time we aren't installing additional outlets in properties.

I would recommend checking back in a couple of weeks as this may change by that point.

Re: What do I need to connect a second V6 box upstairs?

V6 boxes require separate connection to the broadband, there's three options for that

* Use power-line adapters (they need to be on the same electrical circuit)

* Install an Ethernet cable from your Super Hub to the location upstairs

* Use WiFi

What about trying the box on the upstairs cable, using the WiFi for the broadband connection. It would give an idea as to if the cable upstairs is usable or whether you'd need to book en engineer to replace the cable down to the splitter.
