Afternoon all
I have a V6 box attached to an AV receiver. I experience volume variability during programmes. Most noticeable during action movies where loud explosions etc are associated with a reduction in volume, and when the action scenes cease the volume increases and often is seen with much louder dialogue. This does not occur for other devices attached to the AV receiver eg 4k blu Ray player. Can’t seem to find any settings in Virgin box about dynamic volume or similar. Saw in another thread similar issue fixed by replacing HDMI leads - I have tried this but no luck. Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks for this, I thought not. Today I am playing a recording from Sky Movies and the volume is particularly variable with action vs non action scenes. Anyone have this issue?

If the broadcaster has their sound output configured this way, then it's entirely possible - what film are you watching?

Thanks for your response. So as an example I recorded Terminator 2 on Sky Movies Action HD. Within the first 10 minutes featuring the opening battle there is very wide variety in the volume. Particularly noticeable when there are explosions with voiceover (volume quiet) compared to when there is just voiceover (volume loud).

Evening all. I am still having issues with volume variability on my TV V6 box. With Sky movies recordings there are lots of volume changes that occur in particular during action scenes. Has anyone else observed this? It’s frustrating enough that I may consider not renewing with Virgin as it does significantly interfere with the viewing. If there are loud action scenes the volume will suddenly drop right down such that dialogue may become very difficult to hear.

Hi @ere106, thanks for reaching out to us on the Virgin Media forums.
I'm sorry to hear about the issues with the volume on the TV box 😞
May I ask if this issue occurs with a different TV or just alone this one?
As the VM TV box does not have the capability to alter the audio throughout.
Have you tried another HDMI cable? Are you using any 3rd party audio devices?
Let us know.
Kind regards,
Ilyas.
