Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

I just heard that both Sky and Virgin could not reach agreement to retain the Disney channels they have (guess Disney want more than they are prepared to pay) so wil be losing them later this year.

Only way to watch Disney in UK will be on Disney +.

Re: Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

Hopefully Virgin Media will come to an agreement to provide the Disney+ app on the V6 boxes

Re: Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

I just signed up to Disney + yesterday, via my smart TV. Then today I saw that Virgin will be losing the Disney channels.

Re: Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

I downloaded the Disney+ app on my Fire TV stick, it worked well but I saw little content that interested me so I cancelled at the end of the trial period. Of course YMMV.

Re: Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

I've just recently renewed my virgin media package only to get a message on my TV telling me that sky Disney and Disney kids channels are not available after the 30th December will I be able to get a reduction on my subscription as I am paying for these channels in my package?

Re: Virgin and Sky losing Disney channels...

Hi papaski_60,

VM won't give you any reduction for loss of channels as per their /terms-and-conditions

B. Virgin TV

1. We aim to offer a television service covering a wide range of interests.

2. The television service is a variable TV service, so we don’t guarantee that we’ll provide any particular channel, or other content, or access to any third-party services. This means we may add, remove, change or interrupt (some, or all, of) the content and/or the television service from time to time. We may also have to make changes for reasons including (but not limited to) matters beyond our reasonable control, or where content or a service is made available to us by a third-party and they stop making them available to us or we gain or lose the right to make the content or service available to you. Where this happens and, if appropriate, we will try to replace content with similar or equivalent content.

No, is the short answer. Sky are closing the Sky Cinema Disney channel on all platforms, and are replacing it with a +1 version of Sky Cinema Premiere.

As far as the (long since past) closure of the Disney Channels (again, on all UK platforms) goes... https://www.virginmedia.com/help/disney-channels
