Virgin V6 Box - V210 - Port Configuration Test: Failed

Hi,

I've recently signed up for virgin media tv and have installed the provided v6 box in my home.

Channels are working fine, however, I am not getting access to internet-related functions, for example, both 'Catch Up' and 'On Demand' show the following error:
"Catch Up / On Demand is temporarily unavailable.(V210) Please try again in a few minutes."

Viewing the network diagnostics of the V6 box, the 'Port Configuration Test' has failed.

Additionally, 'System Info - Diagnostics - AuthentificationState:' is "NOT_VALID", which implies to me my box has failed to connect to virgin in order to authenticate its use within my household (likely the result of the failed port configuration).

For reference, the box is connected using the provided ethernet cable into my virgin provided router.

I think the port test usually gives and error and so you can ignore that.

What happens in the Settings section for you do a Network connection?

Disconnecting: (Finished)


All tests appear to be working fine bar the 'Port Configuration Test' so I'm really confused as to why it appears as if my v6 box isn't connecting.

I've even checked on my router and the box is registering as connected via ethernet.

The Port Configuration Test usually fails - I don't think it is a proper test meaning anything.

Maty be worth doing a speed test  -  it is in the help pages on the V6 in Customer News - press PLAY when it has finished.

Sadly I don't have access to the help option in the settings as this is an internet related function.

I have just been off the phone with virgin and they say this has become a known issue with new users and it should be sorted within the next 48 hours from their end.

Sounds like an account configuration issue then. At least it should be in hand.
