Virgin Media Movie Rentals - 4k/UHD coming anytime soon?

I have a smart TV with apps that let me rent 4K/UHD movies yet even though the V6 box is outputting 4k there's no option on the Virgin Media Store (rentals).

C'mon Virgin.... late to the game.

Re: Virgin Media Movie Rentals - 4k/UHD coming anytime soon?

Hello Robigouk, thank you for your post.

At the moment we don't provide any content on the Virgin Media Store in 4K, however, if this changes in future we'll let customers know on our customer news page.

Thank you, Emily.

Any update on this - very frustrating that Virgin can't do their own paid rentals at 4k when any other app I have on my smart TV can do it e.g. Rakuten or Chilli (and I'm sure sky customers already have this).

If you can stream 4k content through your TV why are you worried about Virgin providing it?

Why not buy a Premier or Streaming Stick+ from Roku, costs £39.99 and £49.99 respectively.

Re: Virgin Media Movie Rentals - 4k/UHD coming anytime soon?

I could buy a stick but that's not my point.. it would be nice to have a seamlessly  4k movie rental system on my main household system - V6... where I can rent in 4k on one screen, pause and continue watching effortlessly on the other etc.  I just feel VM are way behind on this.

Re: Virgin Media Movie Rentals - 4k/UHD coming anytime soon?

VM will never be able to satisfy everyone, same applies to BT TV and Sky. So the point surely is to get whatever additional kit you need to satisfy your requirements.
