V6 update

Hi.

My V6 TiVo switched its self on yesterday morning 18/2/2020 at 6am. Had it received a software or platform update?🤔 I've seen rumours that virgin are rolling out something called horizon to their boxes. Is it something to do with that?🤔  I've been told that virgin send updates to their boxes every 4-6 weeks. Is this correct?

They send updates as and when they need to, there is no set time. Technically they update tv guide data every night

Nope. Nothing to do with Horizon, which is a total rebuild.

The main noticeable change with this update is a quick key (yellow) to access a +1 version of a channel. This was available with the previous update, but was hidden from the channel banner.

Virgin Media UK don’t use Horizon. They use the TiVO platform. The V6 is Horizon “ready”, & Virgins parent company (Liberty Global) have released the V6 to several of its European operations with the Horizon 4 platform already.
As I stated, the Horizon 4 platform is a totally new UI. This introduces a voice control remote & cloud storage of recordings (the European V6 has no internal storage).

VM plans to have the Horizon 4 RDK ready by the second half of 2020.
