V6 sound quality

I’ve just installed the V6 box and, as others have advised, the sound quality is dreadful. On some channels the sound is turned up to full volume (100) and I still have difficulty hearing. Sound is from tv, no sound bar.  Any suggestions?

Re: V6 sound quality

On the V6, select a channel which is HD, e.g. BBC 1 HD, which is broadcast in 1080i resolution. Then try these video output settings.

1. 1080i - pass through to TV for conversion to 1080p

2. 1080p - V6 converts 1080i to 1080p

Let us know if you see any difference.

Re: V6 sound quality

Hi elliemay16

Thank you for taking the time to post in the Community.

I'm really sorry to hear you are having some issue with the sound since installing your V6 box.

I just wanted to pop by and see if this was still ongoing for you? Did you try the suggestion made by LittleMick73?

Let us know how it is going via your thread.

speak soon,

Louise

Why? This has no effect upon the V6's audio output and no TV channel broadcasts using 1080p via Virgin Media's cable TV provision. If fact, none of the video options will effect or improve the box's audio performance. The audio you get is the same regardless of the video output configurations you use.

Which audio output setting do you have the V6 set to? If using the Dolby Digital option then maybe try using the PCM option. The Dolby option would result in audio normalisation being applied to the audio of those channels actually encoded with Dolby Digital. THis would in turn result in an audible difference in audio levels when compared to SD channels and other channels using PCM to convey audio. You'd not lose anything by using the Dolby Digital to PCM audio output option instead of the Dolby Digital option if only using your TV's speakers to portray the audio. I'd try this to see if the levels in question improve?
