V6 remote broken

Random buttons stopped working on the remote earlier today and now does not work at all.  LED flashes for some key presses but not all.  Have tried all the advice on line but nothing has worked.  Cannot control V6 box at all.

It is the remote because the Vol up work controlling the actual TV but VOL down does not.  Only thing we can do is CH up/down on top of box which is of little use as it is wired up in a location to use the RF control with box out of sight.  This diagnostic exercise has involved lying on the floor under a table.

Hi titchell,

You could try the text messaging service.

Just send  a text with a description of new remote  to 07533 051809. Your message will go into a queue and a representative will respond to you as soon as possible. It may take a few days. 

You can also call  150 from your Virgin landline, or 0345 454 1111, but best to call at 8am to avoid call queues.  You need the TV Faults option, however it will go through a series of tests which probably won't help. If going that route the trick is to call back again about 10/15 minutes later and somebody should answer.

For now you could download the TV Control app and use that until you receive a replacement remote

This is what I get with V6 box  + for 10s then info on remote for 7s.

Get no beep on remote with the V6 - for 10s either.

Please try and reboot the remote by doing the following: 

 

 

To clear your changes and reset your Virgin TV remote to its original settings:

Press and hold down Clear and TV on the remote at the same time until the light on the top of the remote flashes green twice 
Press Thumbs Down three times, then press OK 
The LED will flash green twice and exit programming mode
