V6 box stuck on starting up

Hi there

My second tivo box is stuck on the starting up page.

I've tried the hard reset as per instructions found on here but it's still the same.

Please can somebody advise.

Re: V6 box stuck on starting up

You've posted twice (I've merged the posts together) with the same query - I suspect I know the reason why, but...

Which box(es) do you have? TiVo or V6? If you're not sure, check here

The answer is likely to be the same in either case, that you'll need to call Virgin to report your non-bootable box.

Re: V6 box stuck on starting up

Hi

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for posting twice, originally I thought it was a tivo but it is actually a v6 box.  Is there anything that can be done online as I've spent just short of 1hr on hold tonight before I tried this method.

Rgds

Re: V6 box stuck on starting up

Ah, I thought you had two boxes and both were stuck!

The V6 needs an internet connection separate from the coax, so you can check the link to your homehub (be it Ethernet or WiFi) is good incase a software download is stuck.

Otherwise, power off at the mains for perhaps 5-10minutes to break the "I'm stuck" cycle.. then power up from scratch.

If all these fail, then I'm afraid it's a call to faults...

Re: V6 box stuck on starting up

Hi Japitts

Quick update, no joy with reboots etc so tried swapping the 2 boxes over and it still failed in the other room whilst the good one failed in its place.

Spoke to 2 different CS people at VM who both advised that it could be sorted at their end. Eventually on Wednesday I got through to somebody who listened to me and I was sent out a replacement box that arrived the following day which is now up & running.

Thanks again for your help.
