V6 box stuck in restart loop

We were playing back a recorded programme when the playback started stuttering and skipping, and then the V6 box rebooted itself. It has never completed the reboot, and continues to loop between the welcome and startup screens. It has once, so far, switched to a ‘download’ symbol before skipping back to the welcome screen.

We’ve done the usual checking local issues, power off routine, etc. But it returns to the loop.

I have looked at previous postings about similar problems, and several of them end up in a new box. I wanted to check whether there was anything useful to be done before that.

Nope, that has all the sounds of a failed hard drive to me.

Go for that call to faults I'm sorry to say... they open at 8am. (150 from a VM phone, 0345 4541111 from any other phone)

I am sorry to hear you have had some issues with your V6 box. I have taken a look at the account and can see a technician came out yesterday.
