Our V6 box is flashing red and white and won't connect. Just says "starting up" on the screen. We've tried turning on and off and reseting to bo avail.

Hate to say this, but....
A box that won't start up is probably a faulty box.
You can try switching it off at the mains for perhaps 10minutes to force a re-run of the boot cycle, but if it won't start up you need to call VM and report your fault.
