V6 YouTube sound drop out

Hi there.

I can no longer use the YouTube app within the V6 as the sound keeps cutting out, has been doing it for about a month, the picture doesn't stop at all.

And it's not a broadband issue as my NVidia Shield TV doesn't do this.

Any ideas, apart from factory reset as I don't want to lose my recordings? Thanks

P.S. I've tried going from Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital to PCM in the sound options, and it doesn't fix the issue.

Re: V6 YouTube sound drop out

I've noticed this too. Seems to be only when the video is 4k. My TV only does 1080p and is so set in the V6 settings so I assume the V6 box is downscaling for me and struggling. If i find I my way to the YouTube settings cog in the app and drop the resolution it plays fine.

Or I just use my Chromecast!

Re: V6 YouTube sound drop out

My TV is a 4K set so I will try and see if it’s the 4K videos that causes the issues

Re: V6 YouTube sound drop out

The mods are aware of the problem I reported which is that sound repeatedly drops out on 1080p60 videos. A workaround is to change the YouTube resolution to 720p.
