V6 Update not completing stuck on 1 of 3.

TV screen says:- updating Digital TV Service but update is cycling on stage1 of 3. VBox is showing Fr39 and running numbers h..... cycle ends with FrLA. The fix should only have taken a few minutes not hours.

It is the old TiVo boxes that go through the three stages of updating "1 of 3, 2 of 3 and 3 of 3" - not the V6 boxes.

If both your boxes are down you need to call 150 after checking the cabling.

Thanks for your response. The screen shot of TV and V Box shows the problem quite succinctly. Does it change your advice? This box is in my spare bedroom, the boxes in the lounge and main bedroom are working fine. Regards Walvin

Hi Walvin4271

You can swap over the box and try it in one of the rooms where there is a working connection to confirm if the box is faulty, and if so then call 150.

You can also send  a text with a description of technical issues  to 07533 051809. Your message will go into a queue and a representative will respond to you as soon as possible. It may take a few days. 

You can also come here, give an update, and hope that a member of Forum Staff pick this up for you.

Many thanks. No problems with other rooms, continuity fine in spare bedroom. Will txt problem to number given and see what it brings.

Thanks for your post and I'm sorry to see you've been having issues with updating your set top box. 

 

I can see that both set top boxes are currently online and seem to be working. 

 

Has this issue since been resolved or is this still on going?

Thanks for your response; My issue is with a third box I have in my spare bedroom and sadly the status Is the same. Could it be that I have a problem with the card and the system is not recognising it. If so, what can I do to rectify it.

V6 boxes don't have a card in them.

Are you sure it's not an older V / V HD or V+ HD box? If it is then these boxes have been decommissioned as of last week and need to be replaced, which Virgin Media will do for no cost where it's part of your subscription.

The pattern the OP describes is from an old V box - not the V6 boxes.

Mine is indeed a VBox reutilised after last upgrade.
Had my second bedroom wired to receive Virgin Media vis a splitter. Cabling was checked by virgin ground crew when by chance they were addressing a signal problem in the street and found to be OK.
So, guess I need another box upgrade? How do I go about getting it done.
