V6 - Tv Guide - To be announced

Hello,

The V6 box is new, installed a few weeks ago, but has had an issue for the last week.

The tv guide displays “to be announced” for each channel.

I’ve restarted the equipment.

I’ve tried several times reconnecting… settings/network/connect to the virgin media services now…. On one occasion, a few days ago this corrected the issue. However soon after, the fault was repeated.

The Network Connection status displays - “last status: Failed Unrecoverable error”

The box has in recent days restarted itself on a number of occasions.

Please advise

If the only issue was the EPG not loading, you could troubleshoot the internet connectivity. In your case I don't think that's the problem if your box is also restarting of its own accord.

I suspect your V6 is dying, and you'll need to report the fault. Out of interest, what was the reason for this box being recently new - was it a fault replacement itself, or an additional multiroom add?

Japitts, thank you for your reply.

My TiVo was replaced with the V6 when I moved home a few weeks ago, and as per a new installation at my new property.

Internet is working and OnDemand is working.

Odd to replace equipment when you move home, but you got a better box out of it so hey.

You'll need to report your V6 as faulty via the usual routes (call in or wait here), and it's likely going to need replacing. You're going to lose all the recordings and the SL's on it, but once you have a tech visit booked there is a convoluted process you can try which might just restore the existing box. It does come with some risk, and will be heavily disclaimed as being at your own risk.

If you choose the phone reporting route, I would keep the problem simple. "My box is rebooting regularly" - don't overcomplicate it with other stuff.

Hey Gary_S123, thank you for your posts and replies on our help forum and this thread - a warm welcome from us in the community 🙂

We're sorry to hear of the issues you've faced with your newly fitted V6 box and the channels not playing, we'd love to help out and see if you need a tech visit to have this fixed.
Could you please let us know how things went since you last posted here on Wednesday and if you've spoken to our faults team about this?

Also, could you please advise if you have more TV boxes and if any of the issues exist there too?

Hello Adri,

Thank you for responding. I’ve been monitoring the issue since my forum post last week.

The issue with the box is still a problem. The box keeps automatically restarting. After restarting the channel guide only displays “to be announced”.

I only have one box.

Thanks Gary
