V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

Hi,

For the last week or so. I've noticed my recordings keep rewinding or fast forwarding itself. At first It could have been me inadvertently laying on it or something. But now it's happening constantly. Broadband seems fine. I've tried rebooting this doesn't work. Tried changing batteries, this doesn't work. So far it is only on recordings and one show that I'm watching which is the only one I watch on recorded.

It happens every few seconds and I don't know why.

I literally joined this network about 3 weeks ago.

Any answers please?

Re: V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

I suppose it could be a fault in your remote - once you have your recording playing take the batteries out of the remote and see if you have any fwd/rew issues then.

Re: V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

I took the batteries out, seemed to stop it for about 5 minutes, but while they were out it start forwarding on a show. On live TV. I can see its trying to do it but it can't.

Re: V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

When I reboot it seems all fine for about 10 minutes. Then it goes back to forwarding. All the wires seem okay so far.

Re: V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

Maybe something else is sending signals the box is seeing as fwd/rew commands?

You could try putting something in front of the box to stop IR signals reaching it (so there'd only be the RF connection from the V6 remote).

Re: V6 TV fast forwarding by itself

Hi there @Tallen07

Thanks so much for popping back - sorry that you're still having the issue. I can see from your account that we have sent you a replacement remote control - have you as yet received this and how have things been since the new remote control?

This usually happens when the batteries are running a bit low or there is some interference with the pairing of the V6 and remote control. Did you try the check with the RF and IR signal that one of our users advised earlier on in this thread?

Please keep us posted; if no change with the new remote then we shall try a new box replacement and go from there.

Cheers
