V6 Box stuck in boot loop

Hi,

my V6 TV box is stuck in a boot loop, between “Starting Up” and “Welcome” in lots of languages, then switches  off and back to “Starting Up”.
I’ve done the classic, switching off, wait 15 seconds then back on. I’ve unplugged all the cables at the back. And still stuck in the loop.

Our Broadband services are all good, believe me if they weren’t my son would’ve told me by now.

This is the third time in the last month this has happened, the other two time seemed to work after I took out the HDMI cables.

 Any other tips??

Re: V6 Box stuck in boot loop

Thanks for the post Ovenscrubber and welcome to our community.

Can we please confirm if you can please try run a pin hole reset of the Hub just in case it's this connection which is stopping it from starting up? It may also help to check the white coax cable running from the Hub to the Tivo box may have come loose at any point in this connection.

Let us know how this goes.

Thanks, Emily

Re: V6 Box stuck in boot loop

Hi Emily,

Re tested the cables, all OK. The box is now making clicking and scratching noises and the power light just flashes red.

Will try the reset pin hole when I get home,

 thank you

Re: V6 Box stuck in boot loop

Hi Ovenscrubber,

You could try the text messaging service.

Just send  a text with a description of TV Faults  to 07533 051809. Your message will go into a queue and a representative will respond to you as soon as possible. It may take a few days.

You can also call  150 from your Virgin landline, or 0345 454 1111, options 1,1 and 2 (Faults) but best to call at 8am to avoid call queues.

Forum Staff may pick this up again, but it might be a couple of days.

Re: V6 Box stuck in boot loop

Thanks for your post Overscubber

I believe that we've recently sent out a new set top box for you, has this now been installed and in fully working order?

Kindest regards,
