Re: V6 Box Not connecting via ethernet

Thank you. I finally managed to speak to customer services this morning at 8.05am. They have run diagnostic checks and are sending me a new V6 box.

Very helpful when I finally got through. Understood and recognised the issue. Replacement box ordered straight away.

Re: V6 Box Not connecting via ethernet

I have opposite problem. My hub and V6 box are connected via ethernet cable supplied by VM and work fine. My LG smart TV apps eg iPlayer and Netflix cannot see the WiFi.

Re: V6 Box Not connecting via ethernet

I've never seen that problem before. My only suggestion would be to delete apps (if you have that option), reboot router by unplugging from the wall and try again.

Also, sounds obvious, but scroll down list of available wifi networks if yours doesn't show in the first list...

Can you connect your TV to the Hub by ethernet cable (lie the V6 is), if so, do so.

Why are you phoning if your setup is working correctly over wifi?

That's got to be one of the worst replies on this board.

It was totally worth waiting 2 hours on a phone to replace a working box

All that proves is VM are crap at customer service.

Something was broke which limits the box, were possible it's always best to use ethernet, which was broke.

Re: V6 Box Not connecting via ethernet

thanks for all the feedback, but in my view, Roger was the answer which correctly identified my point. Ethernet is advised as the connection to use, wifi is fallback. If the box/port is faulty, as a rental, we should get a replacement.

cheers everyone, sorted.

Re: V6 Box Not connecting via ethernet

It certainly pays to call VM as soon as the call centre opens as some unfortunates who phone later have to wait ages to be served.
