Apps are specifically developed for Virgins TV boxes by the broadcasters. As the functionality is likely to remain the same I can see the app being modified rather than it being replaced in its entirety. Even if it is removed, VM can revert to their own OD servers to operate a catch-up service, which is how it was originally provided.

So yet again it looks like Virgin Media is going to fail its fee paying customers.
The following being reported by various media press.......
Sky Q, which never had the full ITV Hub app, is expected to get the new ITVX app at launch (or close to it), along with Sky Glass and Sky’s newest streaming box, Sky Stream.
Come on Virgin....... get your act together and give the customers what they want!

So what about the original content? And the new "britbox"?

1) Virgin rarely announce things publicly until they actually happen.
2) There is also no reason to think that ITV will be an "odd one out" as all the other public service broadcasters have their latest apps on all Virgin boxes.
