V401 Error

Two V6 boxes.

Downstairs uses a wired connection, upstairs uses a wireless connection.

Unable to watch recorded programmes downstairs from the box upstairs due to V401 error. But we are able to watch upstairs programmes recorded downstairs intermittently.

We have completely rebooted everything and checked all connections.

I assume from this that there is a fault on the second V6 box which is upstairs.

Please advise.

Re: V401 Error

As per https://www.virginmedia.com/help/virgin-tv-error-codes/v401 this tends to mean the WiFi signal is insufficient.

You can check the signal strength on your WiFi-connected box by following Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Network, and checking in the top-right.

If the V6 is connected to your homehub using thr 5Ghz band, you may improve the signal by using 2.4Ghz instead - otherwise you will need to find a way of improving the WiFi signal in that location.
