Unable to connect to Virgin Services

Hi

I recently got a V6 box in a room upstairs and I am having some issues connecting to the virgin services meaning I have no on demand, no tv guide etc.

I understand it needs to be connected to the internet to work properly, however the virgin hub is downstairs and the wifi hardly works up here (in fact the virgin internet has been garbage since I got it, but thats another story).

I do have a vodafone router up here which works perfectly with my PC, however when plugging an ethernet cable into the V6 box it says its connected, it completes the 'preparing to connect' stage (albeit very slowly) but then gets stuck on negotiating.

Do these boxes work with non-virgin routers? if not, is there a way around this as i can't really us it at the moment.  For clarity, there is an old TiVo box upstairs in the next room that works fine (i assume because it does not need to connect to the hub).

Thanks

Re: Unable to connect to Virgin Services

It has to work on a virgin connection.

Try powerline adapters
