Turn off V6 overnight

Hi,

I'm considering turning off my TV box overnight once I go to bed to save electricity. Can anyone tell me if there are problems with doing this please?

Thanks.

Re: Turn off V6 overnight

You won't get software upgrades and TV channel guide updates which are typically done overnight. I suggest you put the V6 on standby when not watching your TV (this is my practice).

Re: Turn off V6 overnight

I'll reinforce what Roger has said..

All of VM's TV boxes are designed to be left connected 24/7/365, and updates are often pushed out overnight. Repeated on/off cycles are likely to cause problems sooner or later.

Use the power-saving options under Home > Help & Settings > Settings > Devices > Power saving. If you want to be able to access your V6 remotely to manage recordings, then don't use Eco-low-power.
