Tivobox software update error

When box automatically upgrades often has to be switched off and on as upgrade doesn't complete. Today it is showing an error message saying software upgrade failed exception code (6). Says to contact customer support but after 45 minutes on phone was just cut off. Have tried rebooting both box and hub. Can't find anyway of contacting Virgin media for help. Can any one suggest anything  please.

Hi, did you get this fixed? Our box has the same problem and the call centre is closed until tomorrow.

Finally managed to get through to call centre after several more attempts. They sent 2 engineers out who had never seen the issue so had to change to a new box. Said hard drive had probably failed

Thank you. At least I can use this as a starting point to try and convince them not to waste anyone's time and just send me a new box.

You can try this, reboot the tivo and hold TV+Down+Record during boot using the buttons on the box this will wipe the drive and reinstall the tivo operating system
