Tivo

surely someone at Virgin should be aware of the situation and remedial

action is in progress .. It would be good to know if this has been flagged as

urgent.

The worst thing is not knowing when it will be resolved.

Maybe Jim or Bob can fix it and the sooner the better

What's a PM ? 

The issues are much the same as many others in the group

i.e. Tivo box stuck on Welcome screen and beeping away

Checked cables / rebooted 3 x etc etc

You are being asked by C_Butcher86 who is a genuine virgin team member, you can tell by the title and logo next to thier names, to send him or her a PERSONAL MESSAGE, click on the name and give your details to them. This is a public forum so personal data can not be shown on here, they will require you account number & area code, plus postcode, so they can link to your box which must be left on standby.

As I posted it's the same issue ( as many others ) that the TIVO box gives me the Welcome screen

then starts beeping 3x fast followed by 1 slow & Low.

Occasionally it will proceed to a downloading arrow pointing to the box

followed by back to Welcome screen

It's been like that for the past 3 days

last time it was functional was Monday evening

very frustrating as I can't even run diagnostics OR access my recorded programs plus 

front led red flashing & does not go blue as it would do normally

The team here are working flat out to answer and help customers with their issues at a very busy time. Posting this way is inhibiting our ability to provide what could be critical assistance.

& they usually ask for more info.

 

Thanks for advice .. guess I will just have to for Virgin to sort it out

Well Michael 

I've had no TV service since Monday p.m.  I have been unable to get Virgin to run a diagnostics test

on my equipment as their call centres are closed due to the Corona situation.

In the past I have been able to do this myself but only if I can get to the TIVO home screen and I am

currently unable to do that which is why I decided to joined the community  ( but I am a complete novice as to etiquette )

I have been following NHS guidelines regarding isolation and rely on my TV service for the News & entertainment

It seems that there are many others experiencing similar problems

and only this year Virgin were checking cabinets in the street.

Obviously my Internet browsing & email are still functional

so what can I do ?  someone suggested my TIVO box was faulty but I don't think that's the problem

it's just not establishing a link with the appropriate server or servers as evidenced by the jump from 

Welcome screen to flashing arrow pointing to TIVO box

I will try to read the forum guidelines & follow the advice regarding House rules etc

so no more posts for now .. I guess I will just have to wait till some Tech Guru finds the fault
